Potting
Potting is one of the effective moulding technologies we offer. For instance, electronics in housing are filled with polyurethane to ensure protection against weather influences or chemicals. Moreover, this solution provides low costs and high processing speeds, making it highly suitable for large-scale production. Embedding is another option, where electronics are moulded using custom moulds. This process shapes and forms the product in a single seamless step.
Vacuum moulding
Special products require specialised treatment. For example, some applications need to be cast under vacuum to ensure optimal results. At Purtec, we have extensive experience with vacuum casting, which has proven successful for numerous applications.
For instance, it is possible to encapsulate microelectronics or high-voltage applications under vacuum. When stringent requirements are placed on electrical components, vacuum casting can provide an effective solution. Additionally, transparent casting resins can only be processed under vacuum to achieve optimal results. Purtec has the expertise and the right tools to make this happen.
Clear/ transparent moulding
Polyurethane offers countless creative opportunities, especially for LED moulding. We use this technology to strengthen and waterproof LED systems. By applying moulding resin or polyurethane, we create a transparent, waterproof coating over LED applications. Different levels of transparency are possible, allowing us to customise products to your requirements.
For instance, we can encapsulate microelectronics or high-voltage applications under vacuum. Additionally, transparent casting resins must be processed under vacuum to achieve optimal results, and Purtec has the expertise and tools to make this possible.
Moulded products
Polyurethane systems are highly suitable for manufacturing products in a wide variety of shapes. The moulds are easy to produce as high pressure and temperatures are not required, resulting in lower start-up costs and faster processing times compared to other synthetic technologies.
Moreover, integrating threaded elements, thick-walled, or large solid components into mechanical components is also an option.
Laser cutting & engraving
In addition to moulding, we offer laser cutting, engraving, and marking services for synthetic materials. These methods can be applied to plastics of various thicknesses.
Additionally, our laser processing can be combined with other methods to create a range of applications that meet specific design requirements.
We offer production technologies tailored to every requirement. For instance, potting is a simple yet effective solution for embedding electronics, while our high-end applications provide advanced solutions for complex needs. With extensive expertise and years of experience, Purtec is the right partner for your specialist production requirements.
Potting
This is a simple method, where electronics are in a housing that is then filled. Costs are low and the processing speed can be high, an advantage particularly for products in large series.
It is possible to use standard housing. When numbers permit, it is also possible to have special injection-moulded housing made.
High-end applications
A special solution may be required in situations where extremely high requirements are imposed on electrical parts. For example, moulding under vacuum may be a solution to ensure the product has optimum protection against external influences.
Purtec has many years of experience in this area and provides high-end solutions for specific needs.
Embedding
It is also possible to cast electronics by using moulds. This technology is known as embedding. The product is moulded and shaped with one and the same process action.
The low start-up costs make this technology suitable for small series. That does not mean that the options are limited. Far from it, text and logo can be applied in relief without additional production costs.
Shape and design
A broad range of options is available. You, the client, can provide the complete design, and we will work with your specifications. Alternatively, our experts can create the design for you. All production takes place in-house: quick and economical.
Materials
We provide a wide choice of materials, including polyurethane, epoxy, and silicone, to meet various application needs. Furthermore, we work closely with clients to source specific materials not included in our standard range, ensuring all production requirements are met.
In addition, Purtec supports companies that handle their own moulding and are considering outsourcing their production. We purchase any required materials not already in our range and ensure all products are manufactured according to your specifications.
Laser cutting
Our advanced laser technology allows us to cut, engrave, or mark polyurethane into intricate shapes. This method is widely used across sectors such as aeronautics, industrial manufacturing, and domestic appliances, offering unmatched precision and versatility.

Materials
Globally, synthetic materials like polyurethane, epoxy, and silicone rubber play a crucial role in moulding electrical components. Each of these materials offers unique properties suited to specific applications.
Polyurethane stands out as the preferred material for many industries due to its versatility. At Purtec, we primarily work with polyurethane to create lightweight, flexible, or robust structures. Should your project require alternative materials, we are fully equipped to source and implement them according to your specifications.
Suppliers
Besides our own types, we also process moulding-resin systems from Axson, Büfa, Dow Corning, Rhein Chemie, Elantas, 3M, WEVO, and we have our own raw-materials supplier in the TTS Group with ST- Products. More information is available on ST Products.
We also deal with lightfast transparent moulding resins. This creates unique opportunities for LED lighting.
Purtec Polyurethane systems
Together with our raw-material suppliers we have prepared a range of three moulding resins that are suitable for most applications. The type EH-E72 is an all-round moulding resin, often used for potting. The higher mechanical requirements that are imposed on mouldings in moulds, make the EH-E83 extremely suitable. The EH-E95 is used for mechanically demanding applications and for moulding transformers and coils.
The Purtec types EH-E72, EH-E83 and EH-E95 comply with the RoHS Directive.
If required, the moulding resins can be adjusted to specific requirements, special colours, flammability compliant with UL94V0.

More about vacuum and transparent moulding
Transparent polyurethane
There is almost certainly no other type of polyurethane that provides as many creative opportunities.
We can process transparent polyurethane in various hardnesses, whilst colouring with transparent colouring agents is also an option.
By using moulding resin or polyurethane, you produce a transparent, waterproof coating over the LED application. Different levels of transparency can be provided.
Applications
This technology is used to strengthen and waterproof LED systems. It can be used on many LED products and guarantees that outdoor LED lighting has a long life as the product is no longer sensitive to moisture.
Options for transparent moulding
As with all other polyurethanes we process, we can process these transparent systems in combination with various types of moulds. The option of using silicone moulds it the most interesting of all. It is also possible to mould thin-walled products with hard transparent systems. This creates even more possibilities for prototyping and small-series manufacturing.
Complies with the most stringent requirements
Special electrical applications with high requirements often benefit from vacuum moulding. This process ensures an optimum result, particularly when working with transparent moulding resins, which can only be processed under vacuum conditions. With many years of experience, Purtec possesses the expertise and resources needed to deliver this for a variety of electronic components.
Vacuum moulding resins
In principle, almost all moulding resins can be processed under vacuum. As the requirements are generally extremely high, we also use resins that have the optimum properties for the application in question. Besides polyurethane moulding resins, we also make frequent use of silicone moulding compounds.
It is possible to order moulding resins, hot melts/thermelts, and adhesives individually from ST Products, also part of the TTS Group. Read more about ST Products.
Processing
The vacuum moulding process usually takes place in a fully automated room. A robot handles material mixing and moulding, operating under minimal pressure of around 0.5 mbar. This precision ensures that each product is manufactured to meet your exact requirements.

This is how we work at Purtec
Prototypes and small series
Pouring polyurethane under vacuum makes it possible to produce thin-walled complex products. Products that are normally produced with injection moulding, can now be produced in this manner. It reduces the start-up costs, and it is possible to produce prototypes or small series.
Tooling
Depending on the component, moulds are used that are made of plastic or silicone rubber. This type of tooling is quick and economical to produce.
Design
We prepare a CAD drawing on the basis of the information from our client. This drawing is then used to make the tools with a CNC milling machine. If you are interested in these machines, at our sister company TH Technology they will be able to tell you everything you may wish to know.
For all quantities
By focusing directly on making the tooling, we keep the start-up costs low. Series of just a few to series of thousands of pieces are equally possible.
A broad range of products
Our services are suitable for a range of products. For example, we produce for the perfect finish to protect components, such as electronics, software, or displays, against external influences. We are also your port of call for other components, such as housing of electrical products.
